Hanover Borough - Borough Manager and Zoning Officer
The Borough of Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania, with a population of 15,289 is seeking a Borough Manager. The Borough is a progressive community with a regional viewpoint and with a thriving well-rounded economy in manufacturing, services, retail sales, and tourism. The Borough Manager is key to efficient and effective delivery of local municipal services and will facilitate strategic plans for the community. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, accounting, finance, or closely related fields, or commensurate experience, along with 8-10 years of progressively responsible supervisory positions with municipal and governmental organizations. The Borough Manager, who oversees a $32 million budget including the police department, implements all policies and plans as established by the 10-member Borough Council and is responsible for the management of the fire department, the public library, public works (garbage, recycling, streets, traffic signals, property maintenance, etc.), and the regional water and sewer treatment plants. The Manager must be a strong communicator as well as highly skilled in policy development and implementation, human resources and financial management, capital planning, and economic development.
