Coldwater Heritage Partnership 2015 Grant Program
The Coldwater Heritage Partnership (CHP) opened the 2015 Coldwater Conservation Grants Program. The program provides two grant opportunities, which help to protect and conserve the health of Pennsylvania’s coldwater ecosystems. Funding is available through CHP's planning grants and implementation grants. Applications will be accepted through Friday, December 19, 2014. For more information, visit www.coldwaterheritage.org.
Safe Places to Play Grants - U.S. Soccer Foundation - The Safe Places to Play grants are available to nonprofit organizations working to build or enhance a field space that enables children in underserved communities to stay active, healthy, and safe. The Safe Places to Play Grants provide funding in four categories for indoor and outdoor field projects: synthetic turf, lighting, irrigation, and sport court. Applicants must own or have a minimum 10-year land lease or land use agreement for the land where the existing field is located or will be built. Applicants must have written authorization from the community if lighting will be used on the project. A 50 percent match is required. Letters of Interest must be received by September 24, 2014.
Baseball Tomorrow Fund - The Baseball Tomorrow Fund provides grants through contributions from Major League Baseball and its corporate partners for incremental programming and facilities for youth baseball and softball programs. Applicable projects include financing new programs, expanding or improving existing programs, undertaking a new collaborative effort, or obtaining facilities or equipment. Nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations involved in the operation of youth baseball or softball programs and facilities are eligible to apply. Applications are due by October 1, 2014.
Watershed Protection Grant - The William Penn Foundation provides funding for projects in the Delaware River watershed that support watershed-wide research, policy, and practice; protect and restore targeted places of ecological significance; and empower constituencies to act. Eligible project types include baseline mapping, monitoring programs, land acquisition to promote conservation and protect water quality, stream restoration projects in priority sub-watersheds, efforts to complete The Circuit, the Greater Philadelphia regional trail network, and river and trail-related centers for environmental education and habitat preservation. Matches are not required unless specifically communicated; however, the Foundation encourages collaboration and partnerships. Applications are due by November 13, 2014.
The Environmental Grant Program - Sponsored through PA American Water, this program must show that a project will improve, protect or restore the watershed or source water; be located within the Pennsylvania American Water service area and be a new or innovative community initiative, or serve as significant expansion to an existing program. Application period is closed.
