Local Government Energy Efficiency Grant & Loan Opportunity

June 20th, 2024

The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority is releasing a new grant and financing opportunity under the Energy Accelerator Program. The new Municipal Opportunities for Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (MORE) Program will be offered starting June 3, 2024, to help local governments improve their energy efficiency. The MORE Program is available to any municipal governments (counties, towns, cities, townships, authorities, and boroughs) who were not eligible for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG). A complete list of local governments who were eligible for EECBG (and are not eligible for the MORE Program) can be found here.

The MORE Program is offering $1.8 million in first come, first served grants which will only be open until October 25, 2024, while the MORE Loan will remain open as long as funds are available.  $1 million of the $1.8 million in grants will be set aside for priority applicants until August 30, 2024. As such, local governments are encouraged to apply early. A list of priority applicants for the MORE Program is attached.

Due to the limited grant availability, I’m requesting your help with getting the word out through your organization to eligible Pennsylvania local governments about this opportunity. I have attached a summary of the MORE Program. The MORE Program website will also serve as a resource for the program and will continue to be updated as we get closer to the launch date.

To follow up on the newly launched MORE Program, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be hosting an informational webinar on the program on Tuesday, June 25, from 9-10am. Please help me get the word out about this opportunity to learn about the program and ask questions. The information to join is below:
