$54 Million Awarded for Transportation Projects

A total of $54 million for 50 transportation projects in 27 Pennsylvania counties has been awarded through the state's Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF). The projects are intended to improve roadway and bridge safety, pedestrian and bicycle access, local infrastructure, and economic development.

Boroughs are among the key beneficiaries, with funding supporting streetscape improvements, road reconstruction, bridges, sidewalks, pedestrian access, drainage, and ADA accessibility.

Borough projects receiving funding include:

  • Versailles Borough, Allegheny County: $231,077 to replace 25 streetlights on Walnut Street.
  • Bellwood Borough, Blair County: $473,000 for Phase 2 of the Main Street Streetscape Project.
  • Avondale Borough, Chester County: $645,118 to reconstruct the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
  • Chester Hill Borough, Clearfield County: $500,000 for improvements to Rowland Avenue.
  • Clifton Heights Borough, Delaware County: $350,542 for multimodal safety and accessibility improvements along North Springfield Road.
  • Wesleyville Borough, Erie County: $605,720 for reconstruction and pedestrian improvements on Edison Avenue.
  • Moosic Borough, Lackawanna County: $813,332 for sidewalk, drainage, and pedestrian-lighting upgrades along Main Street.
  • Dupont Borough, Luzerne County: $569,632 to mill and repave several borough roadways.
  • West Wyoming Borough, Luzerne County: $462,543 for street restoration and ADA ramp installation.
  • Rockledge Borough, Montgomery County: $77,189 to repave two borough streets.
  • Skippack Borough, Montgomery County: $2.072 million to install a new culvert at Routes 73 and 113.

The announcement also includes substantial investments in cities, townships, counties, bridges, airports, trails, and pedestrian infrastructure.

The next round of MTF applications opens September 14, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., with applications due October 30, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
