PennDot Work Zone Awareness Week
April 21st, 2025Monday, April 21st, is the start of PennDot's Work Zone Awareness Week, which seeks to raise awareness for safe driving in work zone areas across Pennsylvania's roadways. Last year there were 1,200 crashes in work zones which resulted in 22 fatalities and over 212,000 traffic violations.
In response to these incidents, the state responded by installing almost 2,500 speed cameras to encourage more responsible driving in work zones, and so far they have helped to reduce work zone crashes.
